4/3/2014 — More than 35 women fasted in San Francisco as part of the Mujeres Unidas y Activas and La Colective de Mujeres day of fasting. Some of the women were domestic workers who had to work that day but then they returned to join us in the fast. It was a great day with many activities. There was a workshop on the history of fasting as a social movement tactic, we created art using our migration stories to make a quilt. We say a movie on immigration called "A Better Life", did yoga and played games together. We ended the fast by participating in the national march against deportations on April 5th.
